Rather addictive rhythm, I almost felt bad stopping at 4 minutes in. If the trumpet was to be the only lead sample, it could've had some added flair to it. The middle of the song gets strung out and dull.

Argh! Why do so many composers feel the need to throw bleepy bloopy or in this case buzzy samples into an otherwise ok instrumental song. All right so this song isn’t exactly a great instrumental song in the beginning. The trumpets especially are bad with abrupt cut outs on almost every note. But as a pure instrumental song it would have been better than it is as a hybrid instrumental + buzzy stuff. Buzzy stuff aside it is also too simple and repetitive.

First, the song's size is excessive in my opinion. Four minutes of tracked music should waste about 720k of precious HD space. This is due maintly because of those 16 bits samples. But I'll zero in on the music only for this review. The song is very well composed. The balance between the fast and slow pace is well controled. As well as the one between the simpicity and complexity of the different patterns. It's great to listen to a song which begin with something easy to understand to something more challenging. Overall the song is well crafed. From the samples to the progressions, everything has been carefully inspected, and nothing has been left out.

Ahhhh... This song is contemplative, relaxing, and a little sad. Sounds, well, like a good-bye. It has emotion and (later) vigor. What can I say? Can't find any flaws that drive me up the wall. One point, however: At the beginning when strings first enter, they sound out of tune. I assume the little tuning twinge is for effect. And it is _very_ slight. It later settles into the rest of the mix. And what a mix! 28 channels used most of the way, juggled with a verteran's precision. Panning is killer, Volumes are well placed, and other such considerations are handled with ease. Samples are clear, good quality, and in tune with each other. Was I hallucinating earlier? :) Anyway, overall this song is very good quality. I expect it to go far.

This song really wasn't exciting, soothing, ambient, etc.; it was just there.. I didn't enjoy it much. The techinque was ok... but it was kind of creative.. so there are reasons for the score.
