Its songs like these that make me wish I liked jazz more. It sounds like jazz, and I assume the composer WANTED it to sound like jazz, so congrats are in order. :) Aside from that, it sounds believeable in almost every respect... the bass sounds a bit funky but its forgiveable. If I walked into a jazz club and heard this playing, it wouldn't sound out of place at all. Good job!

Nice opening. It made me think it was going to be something wild. But it turned into standard oldskewl jazz...but very nice jazz :) It's successfully carefree and interesting. I love the development and even the finish. The piano kinda made the song go in circles (az jazz often does). Yet, the piece still had a definite direction (again, as jazz does). This kind of jazz is not too easy to track and must have had a musician that's really experienced in the genre (you). This and m6v-pony are the most professional song I've heard in MC6. Good job! (vet next year)

[Arrangements]Super..[Use of...]Why using delay (sdx) commands in flood to exchange your hop-rythm instead of playing with the tempo changings like axx or Txx or even adapt a patterndelay?[Sample Quality]Good. *Sounding Techniques* [Depth]Little[Width]None [Headphones]Okay [Speakers]Swinging...

I have not heard any Jazz tunes that start off with a drum solo, especially one that is 29 seconds long. Try and limit the intro length a bit. Don't keep the listener waiting to get the song really going. Your drum sections were actually quite good, and so was your piano. You had a great choice of instruments for a Jazz Trio. What I really have to give you a congratulations on is your use of "instruments" in Impulse Tracker. You created a drum kit, your had a single sample bass instrument, but your piano sounded GREAT! Using mulitple-octive recordings of one instrument made the piano sound realistic, and almost perfect sound quality. You only needed three instruments (hey, it was a trio). Your ending could have used some work, and your intro, but overall the song was really good!

This song has an excellent live feel about it. The improvised feel in the rythmn and lead piano is outstanding. Perhaps the biggest area for improvement is the samples. Cleaner samples could be used for most of the instruments in the song and the bass sample sounds just a tad artificial. It also sounds a little too cluttered in parts which suggests the author needs to be careful about not getting too carried away with the jazz feel and maintain some control over the structure and tonal dynamics. Overall this song is outstanding for a rookie entrant and would have done well even if entered in a higher division.

This is a fairly unusual track, being a fairly fast jazz track, which is a rather unusual style in the trackers scene, and it's fairly well tracked and pulled off without too many faults which gets a plus from me. One thing that really annoyed me about the track though is that every time I listened to it, I couldn't shake the feeling I'd heard it before, most likely in radio here locally. The tracking is pretty good for a rookie tune, and even though hardly any effects are used in the tune (apart from a few note delays) the track doesn't suffer much. The samples are mostly in tune, though were a bit noisy though you don't hear it all that much in the track's cacophony, still, try sampling them in higher quality next time and downsample them. The song itself is pretty good though there are parts in the 2nd half that annoy me and I couldn't help feeling that the track got a little bit repetitive, fortunately (for me, since I'm not a jazz fan), the track ain't all that long. Overall, a decent track in its own, but not one I'll keep.

This style of music is very difficult to track effectively and you have achieved it well. The piano is excellent and tracked with good technique; the theme is good and the ad lib work is well done. Superb use of the note delay (sdx) command. The samples are quite good although the pianos are perhaps a little large. The drum solo at the beginning doesn't quite work for me - for some reason this type of sound only seems to work well when played live. Nonetheless the drums throughout are well tracked. The orchestration is very nice - excellent walking bass and the chords in the piano show a fine knowledge of harmony. I enjoyed this song despite the style not being my favourite. An excellent rookie entry!

Overall: After a very long (some somehow not so interesting) drum intro a true jazz tune follows. Althouth it is well done, it is lacking some more change. After the listener got the main idea the song does not evolve much. Originality: To make a jazz song is definatively orginal. But the composer could have made this song even more original, if he tracked some more parts into it. The song consists of bass, piano and drums. I would like to have heard a trumpet or flute later on. And the theme of the song stays the same throughout the time. This is not bad for a jazz tune. But for a competition a song needs some more highlights. Form: It is nice to listen to a non-standard tracked computer music. This song surely deserves the final round. As I am no expert of jazz music I find the song heavily out of tune. I know that jazz music does not have to be very close to the harmonic rules, but I think that during some parts the song glides out of the acceptable range for an avarage listener. This is specially noticable in pattern 0x11-0x15. Technique: Not much to say. No highlight, but nothing bad also Samples: The samples are not very exciting if heard solo. But alltogether they fit well and give a rich sound. Of course there is not much reverb etc. but that does not fit to jazz music anyway. It must have the dry charme of a 60's studio record.

Yeahh!!! Sounds like free jazz. And what a session those guys make, it is very cool & funny listening them. The timings are not perfect by 100% only 99% hehe. Nevertheless, it is hard to imagine this tune was done by a beginner. I can imagine those 3 guys (bass), (piano), (drums) playing their instruments while listening to this tune. Good work!!! Keep on composing some freaky jazz songs like this one. I did not hear many good realized jazz songs like this one.

That's some refreshing music ! Jazzy style is sure not easy to compose. But you made it. I like your rhythmic and chords. I don't know if it's really wanted, but it gives the impression of an improvisation music. The thing i regret most is the end of your song. It ends strangely (a shame regarding the rest).
